Are you up for a laugh? Well, you’re in luck because summer has arrived (apparently!) and Gag House Comedy Clubs would like to invite you to grab your favourite tipple and join them for a giggle, as they present two cracking comedy nights for you this June.
Back with another stoking line-up, there’s only one place you need to be at 8pm on Wednesday, June 7 and that’s the regular Gag House mid-week comedy club You Must Be Stoking, at The Stoke Pub and Pizzeria in Guildford.
Your MC for the evening will be Tony Cowards, known on the comedy circuit as a rapid-fire gag merchant with an arsenal full of one-liners. For laughs-per-minute, he’s a great act to have at the wheel for the night!
Joining Tony is Tom Lucy, the youngest ever comedian to be signed to Off The Kerb – the UK’s biggest comedy agency. Last year Tom won the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Award and this year he’s been supporting none other than Jack Whitehall on tour. Oh, and he’s still only 20 years old… Pretty impressive, we think.
Sooz Kempner did her very first stand-up gig in 2009. After winning Best Newcomer at the Musical Comedy Awards and the Variety Award at the Funny Women Awards, Sooz is bringing her banter to Guildford.
Headlining the club is Chortle Award nominee and BBC New Comedy Award Finalist, Steve Williams. One of the most exciting and electrifying live performers on the comedy circuit, Steve never fails to surprise and engage audiences with his hybrid of bizarre stories, larger than life physicality, spontaneous improvisation and his off-the-wall take on everyday life.
What are you waiting for? Tickets are £12 on the door (£10.60 in advance) and can be purchased from www.GagHouseComedy.com or by calling 0333 666 3366.
The Stoke Pub can be found on Stoke Road, Guildford, GU1 4JN.
Can’t make it on June 7? Fear not, Guildford Gag House is back for what is set to be another sell-out night at The Back Room of The Star Inn on Saturday, June 17.
The laughs start at 8pm with actress, comedian and writer Laura Lexx, who is your host and compare for the evening.
Laura is joined by London-based writer, director and comedian Garrett Millerick who is a regular on the stand-up circuit. His gently sarcastic, angry, truthful yet witty rants will leave you hanging on every word!
Next on the mic is Malaysian-born comic Nigel Ng, who started his career in Chicago and is relieved that (most) people in the UK get his jokes too, as evidenced by him winning the prestigious Amused Moose Laugh Off in 2016.
Gag House Comedy Clubs are over the moon to welcome back comedy legends The Raymond’s and Mr Timpkins Revue. After having their act brutally copied on Britain’s Got Talent, you now have the chance to see the real thing. All we can say is that this is, without a doubt, the maddest, silliest, stupidest, cleverest, strangest and funniest double act on the circuit and, quite simply, it has to been seen to be believed.
This event sells fast so please bag yourself a ticket in good time: they’re £13.50 and can be purchased from www.GagHouseComedy.com or by calling 0333 666 3366.
Guildford Gag House is at The Back Room of The Star Inn on Quarry Street, Guildford, GU1 3TY.
